Modern Feats

Please join me and my dancing friends this weekend for Modern Feats. This will be my last time onstage in Portland for the next while.

I'll be performing my lastest epic "The Secret of Life" on Thursday night May 31. On Saturday night, June 2, I have three pieces on the program. A new solo, an old duet performed by Fisher Qua and Meredith Sallee of Bates College and a group improvisation.

Modern Feats is happening at the Portland Stage Co., 25a Forrest Avenue in Portland.

Showtimes are 7:30 and tickets are $15. Call 780-0554 for ticket reservations.

Evolution

As a species, we are at a critical point in our evolution. We are facing a juggernaut of obstacles that may prevent us from continuing our growth process. Pollution and violence among other problems are threatening to stop us in our tracks. Pollution is represented in this piece with cigarette smoking and violence as a cowboy. Inspired by the classic chart of man’s evolution from monkey to man through different stages, I place current man in the center of the stage. If we can get past our polluting and violent ways, man may continue to evolve into a species of enlightened beings.

So Long Salon

The So Long Salon was absolutely the greatest evening it could be one of the all time best nights of my life. I am still floating above the ground. It was one beautiful expression of fun and joy and love and dance and friendship and laughter and good food and goofiness. I have amazingly wonderful friends and students and family. I am so blessed. Thanks to everyone that came and had a good time.

It's Saturday morning and I'm looking forward to tonights performance/party. The reservation list is full of wonderful friends. I can tell already the evening will be magical. There is a waiting list if you'd still like to come or drop by around 9 for the after show party!

Hey Friends,

Don't forget about So Long Salon Louis this Saturday at 7:30 at New Dance Studio in Portland. It will be a great show and party to follow. There will be kids dancing. Two Bates students will perform my very first piece of choreography ever. My special guests include Carl Rudman who is hooked on phonic, Katenia Keller a.k.a the Goddess of Freedom and Judy Zink, with Improvox vocal star Mershon! All for $10.

In addition, I will fly with some of my friends. Don't forget to stay for the party afterward. Hope to see you then!
